Unexpected Medal
Exceli hor, this week I supposed to train for my long run wan. Bcoz hor, adidas KOTD is coming next week liao. My last long run was Penang Bridge Run on 25th june, so now I'm in low low mileage. And then hor, this Datuk Yaziz keep poison me to go Bangi. I oredi sell my bib to Chen Pong2 liao, however Datuk Yaziz willing to register for me again using Chen name, collect bib n fetch me there too. Fuyo! So touching, so I accept der offer. So hor, Me, Yaziz, Pong2 n Adam Loh Poh2 go together in big lorry, we gather at Bkt Aman car park 6.00am.
By 6.30am we oredi at Bangi liao, however still raining but not so kaulat liao. By 7am rain fully stop, at 7.30am race yet to start. Cinya geram VVIP late again, drag until 7.50am only they flag off. After der flag off, I was running smooth. Suddenly after 1km, Suresh Pm47 come n sayur me. Wah!! Make me so panic nia, lucky I manage to handle der situation. After few mins, I manage to sayur back Suresh. However Guna was no where to be seen liao :(
Pain Is Your Friend
After 4.5km hor, suddenly I feel my heel area very painful. Due to I wear low cut sock, der shoe keep rubbing my skin every sec every mins, cinya unbearable. After der U-turn, I calculated my position was in driving seat at #20. Sumore Chen Pong2 still far behind, so a bit relief lah. But my heel skin getting more n more painful liao, so have to reduce der speed a bit.
As wat I know, der distance is not up to 10km. After 31mins I start to pia all out liao, coz der distance is getting nearer n nearer liao. Finally I touch der finishing line at 37min 18.11sec at Position 18th! Base on my 2004 Bangi result I was out of medal position at 33rd position wit time of 37min 42.81sec. [insert happy to get medal] finally get my revange!
After finish der race, my shoe was cover wit blood. Cinya scary, quickly take out der shoe n socking, n start to walk like cacat. I only have myself to blame for not wearing der correct sock, sumore I got bring 2 sock sumore leh.. TNS!!
Overall we are very happy, couse everyone of us going back wit a medals! And FYI, Congratulation to Adam Loh Poh Poh (Pm29) for his 100th medals collection at Bangi Run. So far only 4 Pacemakers manage to hit 100 medals..

Pacemakers #48
Once upon a time......err.....oh sorry ah....long long time ago i was supposed to give you this...
ok, here's my report
Running became my passion last year. It was in Kuching, my hometown, in a charity 10km run. Somehow I became hooked to running after that day. I saw my uncle in the run and he is the senior veteran who finished way in front of me. He looked like he's made of iron and as for me, I'm just a fat dumpling that rolled along the track which stopped many times to catch my breath. This fat dumpling cursed many times along the run too. My uncle motivated me to run faster, go further and be fitter.
The Saberkas Marathon was the 2nd run I took part in and of course I didn't dare to go the full 42km but with an itchy butt, I tried 21km. That run gave me many days of 'duck walking' as I haven't ran enough to be comfortable. Took me 2hr 23min to reach the finish line and before that, cramps hit both legs in the last 2km. Suffering!!! But when i reached the finishing line, it was a priceless moment! So after that run, I came to KL for work and started joining the runs. I must thank KhooYK for he is the one that encouraged and dragged me into running. Kam sia!!! By the way, I still remember our school days where he lapped me twice in the sports day 5km. He was racing and I was jogging. Yes, he is our school and state runner. Go St. Joseph! Go Sarawak!!
The first run I joined in Klang valley last year was 10km PJ half. After that, it's Ipoh International, Seremban, Mizuno, Subang, Singapore....and the list goes on.
This year started with a bang in the Great Eastern Pacesetter 30km. I became a running maniac where I joined as many as I can this year. Running is a socialising event where we meet so many people and make so many friends. And recently I was invited to join der Pacemaker. Yes, I'm happy and proud to be one. Kam sia!!!
Next run for me will be KOTR. See you all there! Running is a passion!

Bukit Aman - Sri Hartamas Route
On Saturday, I ran the Bukit Aman - Sri Hartamas route and one of the key objective was to measure the course using the Garmin ForeRunner 205. PM1 is very der kan cheong about the exact distance of the course and he has been reminding me to do it and even to an extent of at which point I should start the measurement. While PM1 was interested in the distance, Flying Pig PM8 was requesting me to check out the elevation of the course. He wants to know how is the gradient of this course look like which I believe will give him a strategy in hill training. So without disappointing them, my mission was set on Saturday to ensure such information will get acquired after the run.
Bukit Aman - Sri Hartamas Petronas station: 9.66k
- start from Bukit Aman exit near to the public toilet
- end at red Post Box at Petronas station
Loop around Petronas station: 0.9k
- start from red Post box
- ends at red post box
Sri Hartamas Petronas station - Bukit Aman: 9.59k
- start from red Post Box at Petronas station
- ends at Bukit Aman exit near to the public toilet
The total distance of the route is 20.15k and the elevation ranges from a low of 30m to a high of 110m. Total ascent of 661m and descent of 642m for the entire route. I hope this information will be useful for those who wants to plan out their training strategies moving forward.
In conjunction with this, I believe Jamie will be using this route as the official course for the Phedippidations World Wide Half Marathon. The race will happen across the world on 13-14 Oct 2007 and please sign in for the race. As of today, there is already 9 entrants across Malaysia. More information on the event happening in KL will be published by Jamie. Watch out for it.

Rating : Very Very Poor!
I don't mind of paying RM30 linggit, if der run is organise it very well. But to my surprise, it was der worst run that i couldnt imagine....
1) Der collecting bib area very der cin cai (lousy), really potong stim.
2) Unbelievable! No toilet at all, ask them how can this be? They juz reply say "SORRY!" I oredi kenot tahan my shiet liao!! [insert very der frust here]
3) Actual starting time 7am, but nothing yet to happen [insert pukul lalat here]. Runners juz waiting like "Soh Loh" (stupid).
4) 7.10am only announce der starting time, ask runners to get ready. starting time will be at 7.15am sharp!
5) Starting line very der kelam kabut, organizer didnt give a proper direction.
6) Oredi 7.30am, race still no start. When is about to start, got ppl protest der Afrika runners, so organiser ask all der black runners to stand a side to Kheng Sou (settlement).
7) In d end, 1 afrika male n 1 female are allow to take part. Stupid fool, organizer shldn't have mention earlier in der entry forms if they not allow foreign to take part?
8) So sad for der Afrika runners, they hv to step a side to see other run. [insert CCB TNS to der organizer here] Bcoz of 1 runner protest, others hv to suffer. No sportmanship at all!!
9) Distance from 10km downgrade to 7km, but der medal label stated 10km.
10) Nothing to shout about this event, der only thing I like is der medal nia. That All!!
