It's surprising why we keep at this sport which brings us pain. Pain to the knees, the butt and black toes are what we runners see as something common - a rite of passage.
But fret not! Here's a light hearted look at why we should continue to do what we've come to love (in the context of PM runners and visitors to this website)!
- escaping from bears and cobras
- escaping from roaming perverts
- outrunning tidal waves
- understanding the psyche of stray dogs and outrunning them
- collecting medals and certificates
- develop agility to dodge mad drivers
- develop an acute night vision from running in the dark
- losing weight
- farting
- shaving legs and other hairy parts
- running in the rain- meeting chicks
- meeting people from all over the world
- improved stamina for sax play
- improved stamina for sex play
- improved stamina for badminton
- getting married and calling your wedding a half marathon
- having the opportunity to organize a run for just about any occassion
- buying new shoes and gears
- drinking isotonics without fear of diabetes
- chatting like silly on this website
- getting featured in newspapers and websites
- travelling to far off places
- climbing mountains
- improving skills with the camera
- improving writing skills from all the reports
- calling each other names
- opportunity to match make like-minded people
If the above don't get you out there running, I don't know what will!
