Pacemakers’ Anniversary Run 2006

Date : 3 June 2006 (Saturday)
Time : 8am
Venue : KLCC Park
Fee : RM20

In view of our Pacemakers’ second anniversary on June 1st, we would like to organize an anniversary run at the KLCC park on Saturday, June 3rd.

We are proposing a relay consisting of 4 members in a team. Each participant would run 2 laps at the undulating KLCC park track, and the total distance covered by each team would be 10.4k or 8laps.

Considering the complexity of the PAR which was held last year, especially in organizing all the breakfast and goodie bags, we have decided to make this year’s event as simple as possible.

The main objective this time would be for us to have a good time of fellowship amongst ourselves, and also getting to know one another better. I believe that not everyone has had the chance to meet all our members yet.

There will be trophies presented to each participant, however there will not be any goodie bags or t-shirts. We would not be looking so much at the timing of each team as the event is not meant to be competitive in nature.

The event will be open to members from the Pacemakers’ group as well as our long time supporters the Penguin runners. We would also be giving out exclusive invites to certain friends of the Pacemakers group.

We are not providing breakfast on that day, however we will prepare 100plus and mineral water for the participants. After the event and trophy presentation, we could adjourn for breakfast somewhere close by.

You are all encouraged to form your own teams and pass the names to Ronnie or me. Try to have a mix of runners in your teams, and not for instance just have all the fast runners in one team. The organizers would have the final say in reassigning participants to other teams should we feel there isn’t a proper balance.

The closing date for registration would be Sunday, May 14th as we need to prepare the trophies accordingly. We hope to get all or most of you to participate in this. Please feel free to drop your comments and suggestions.

Cheers,

Dinesh,

Very thoughtful of you to direct & organize this race to bring PMs together, and generous of Y Bhg Tan Sri Rohaizad to sponsor trophies similar to that from KRI race.
