Acknowledged as the turning point for the Allies in the Pacific War during the WW2, the events of the Battle of Midway reads like a Hollywood movie. It was, in fact, made into a movie with an all-star cast of Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, Robert Wagner, Toshiro Mifune, Glenn Ford, Hal Holbrook and many more (ah...you over-35s will know who they are!). Tactical blunders committed by the Japanese military plus a measure of luck finally allowed the Americans (a nearly decimated force actually) to turn the tide against the Imperial Navy. This battle was entirely fought by carrier-based planes and torpedo bombers.
There will be another battle fought today, a very different one. At 6:30pm, 2 runners - 1 of whom follows to his Emperor's (PM1) advice to a T and and takes to every run like his last - and the other who may just be peaking at the correct time - will meet at the KLCC Park to resolve their differences over 3 laps.
