Dear Runners

The popular adidas King of The road 2009 ( Half Marathon ) is back.

We promise a BIGGER & BETTER race this year and will be improving some of the set-back in last year's event. In line with the Bigger & Better theme the event will Start & Finish at Stadium SHAH ALAM and we had charted a very panoramic & challenging route meandering across the
fascinating landscape of Shah Alam.

The event will be divided into twelve categories and we are expecting a participation of 10,000 runners from all walk of life. RM80,000.00 worth of prize are for taking with 2350 finisher medals. We will be putting SEVEN water & THREE sponging stations for the Half Marathon runners. We hope to see many new runners and also welcome back our loyal runners who have run in previous editions of this race.

Attached is the soft copy of the entry form and we would appreciate if you could either post them in your blog or forward them to your friends and family.

MY TEAM WILL BE AT THE BUKIT AMAN CAR PARK BOTH ON SATURDAY 2ND MAY 2009 & SUNDAY 3RD MAY 2009 FROM 7.00 A.M. TILL 10.00 A.M. TO REGISTER RUNNERS

AND ALSO 1st MAY AT CIRCUIT RUN LAKE GARDEN CHILDREN PLAYGROUND.

Thanking you and please register early to avoid disappointment.

Best Regards

I hope runners do not forget the large no of bad reviews given for this KOTR run especially on water & traffic control last year. Some even state thay they will not support anymore and I do hope they will act on their statements - otherwise organisors will contd to give crap.

As the saying goes...Once bitten twice shy.

I already experienced it yesterday. The competition details state registration accepted at the registration centres from 1 April but when I went to the adidas in The Gardens to register they told me they do not have the forms yet. Told them I have printed the form online then they said they don't have the official receipts as well. Damn! Purposely went there after work and didn't get to register.

Calvin, Same experience I have last year with the Kok-up registration not only at The Gardens but at their HQ. The Reception at HQ dont bother to pick up the phone & does not even know they were doing the KOTR when I make my way to their HQ office. She even confidently told me "no such thing" What a joke!

Seems like Dejavu. I should have listen to my better judgment last year not to even bother joining as the registration process already gave me a poor first impression. Well you wont see me supporting this race.

Once bitten twice shy.

Runners have the power to make organisors do a better job. Please use that power by not supporting running organisors that do a bad job when it comes to registration, dispensing of bibs & safety aspects (water and traffic control).

John, what you mentioned is still happening this year. The following day after my experience at The Gardens I happened to pass by Plaza Damansara during office hours. So I thought why not register at adidas' office. When I was there, the receptionist told me the temps who were supposed to accept registration have not started work yet. Since I was already there, I asked if anyone can accept my registration. She then said the person in charge was not at his place. Very very frustrating indeed.

i went to shirt collection 2days ago, and i collected on behalf on my friend since she only available on Friday night. the shirt i choose is XS and i believe she can wear it. but i was told by his best friend she can't wear this shirt as the size seem to be small compare with others XS. i went for exchange just now, and a indian fellow told me that no exchange can be made, and this is the procedure. dam it! i feel like shocked to hear this.. well, i plan to ask my gang not to wear adidas shirt for this run

My friend collected the shirt for our group of 10. Then I realised my t-shirt was a 'S' for men. I thought Adidas might have run out of women t-shirt as I was many women runners were wearing men's t-shirt this morning at the run. To my surprise, the women t-shirt are up for sale at RM30 at the stadium. Feeling frustrated, I complained to the Adidas stuff and she rudely told me that my friend should have check the t-shirt when he collected it on the spot!
