First of all we the committee would like to thank you for your continuous support for all our Pacemaker events. It is because of this support and encouragement that we are able to keep improving our events and deliver more enjoyable experiences for all you running enthusiasts!
We are also extremely happy to announce that the number of participants for the NYR 2010 has reached the maximum limit of 200 participants. In fact we now have over 200 names that have been submitted via online registration or email. Further to this, we regret to inform that due to limited resources and also to ensure a quality event, the committee has decided that we need limit the number of participants to 200 runners.
At this point in time, we notice that only 50% of runners have graciously made payment for the event. We have also noted from past events that some runners who have registered online failed to make payment way past the deadline and this resulted in other keen runners on the waiting list not being able to participate. Apart from that, it also creates an administrative nightmare for the committee.
In view of this, the committee has decided that the first 200 runners to settle the payment in full will automatically qualify for participation while the rest will need to wait for our next event. We have already ordered the 200 medals and will not be able to increase the number later. A picture of the medal can be seen below. For those runners who have registered online without any serious intent of participation, we hope you will kindly remove your name from the list.
Those of you who have settled your payment, please check the status using the following link. http://h1.ripway.com/pm1/netrun10.html. You can try again after 10 minutes should the site be down.
Lastly, we would like to announce a change in women's running route and distance. After feedback from some runners who had tried running the course, we agree that due to the extremely tough route, the women's distance will be decreased to 9km while the men's distance remains at 12km.
Once again, thank you for your support and we look forward to any comments, feedback and suggestions that can be emailed to der_pacemaker@yahoo.com leading up to the event!
