I'm honoured to be part of Pacemakers Malaysia's family. My name is Wong Li Li.
I'm never a sports person in school. I started running in Sept 2013 and started my first race NM Galaxy 12km with position no 19 in my category. From there I began to join 21km races almost every month and mostly managed to be in top 15 position. My first FM was SCKLM the same year with the timing of 5:10.
I'm not a fast runner but always wonder how far I can run and decided to join Ultra run in 2015. I started with Route 68 50km thinking it wouldn't be that difficult and managed to complete it 5:58 with position No 5. From there on I keep going further and further. I completed my first Titi100km in 2016, not a very good timing 16:36 with position No5. That year was the hottest and I still remembered all the dead brown leaves and trees while running and wondered what exactly am I doing here.
In May I did ECO50km. I think I was kinda crazy because the only trail run I did was Mardi trail 18km in 2015. I was not prepared. I don't even know what is 'elevation' means. Emergency blanket sounds new to me. I was lucky that I survived and again completed in 16:34 with No 6 position. I guess that makes me fall in love with trail and in 2017 90% of my race was trail run.
My best moment was Cultra 100km that I managed to complete in 22:54 with No 5 position. A lot of things can happen during trail and it's not easy to aim for podium. So far every race I only aim to complete and podium is always a bonus to me.
For the past 3 years, running on road or trail makes my life more colourful. I get to meet a lot of friends. We train together, eat together, run together and hopefully we will be able to continue our running journey for a long time. In my future race, I hope I can complete with no injury.
