A TOTAL of 566 medals will be up for grabs in the Petaling Jaya Half Marathon starting at Stadium Petaling Jaya in Kelana Jaya this Sunday. Organising committee chairman S. Sivapatham said the first 200 runners in the 21km men's Open category and the first 100 runners in the 21km Men's Veteran (40 years and above) would receive a medal each.
Medals will also be given to runners in other categories. Runners who can complete their 21km run within 105 minutes will be awarded a certificate of distinction. Those who complete their 21km run within 120 minutes will receive a certificate of merit and those who complete their 21km run within 135 minutes will receive a certificate of participation.
A certificate of participation will be given to the first 100 runners in the 10km categories and the first 30 runners in the 5km categories. Sivapatham said the organisers would personally send the certificates to the winners after their times had been verified by a committee.
This year's PJ Half Marathon will revert back to its original route.
