Pacemaker # 22

My name is Tey Eng Tiong, 35 years old, now work assport feature reporter in Sin Chew Daily. Since primary already love running, always get medal during games, even study at secondary school (SRP), which only have cross country, but I also love and enjoy running through the estate, oil palm, crossing river, I always can get top 10, so it keep me love running. When continue transfer to the other secondary school (SPM), I love to run from 100meter to 800meter... India friends also respect me lah...hahaha, my most happy is ran 59 seconds to get gold medal in 400meter.

I study at TARC for STPM, but not active in running, cause TARC don't have field or track for us to run. I only ran to Melati during my leisure time. My first full marathon is 1994 at KLIM, but is painfull, cause don't have any experience, didn't do LSD training, my time is 5 hours 2 seconds, even though i can't forgot is I cramp both of my legs with other runner near to PWTC, rest about 30 minutes, even ambulance ask all of us to go up, but we refuse.

Since then, I stop for 4 years, lazy to train for full marathon, but after meet with friends from Klang during climbing activities, like Peter, PACM leader at that time. He encourage me to run full marathon at PBR since 1998, it is pain again cause I always not enough training, so only can finish almost 6 hours. Nowday because I have a lot of friends, which they very enjoy and also serious about running, so I restart and also get a lot improvement, nowday my PR time is 4 hrs 25 minutes which set at last year PBR.

After met with friends from Taiwan in running website, which a lot of them have set 100 full marathon certificate. And I decide to follow them, so I will keep loving in running. Now I have ran 15 full, but only manage to get 13 full certificate. For me, it is still far to go to achieve my dream, I plan before 55 years to get 100 full marathon certificate. I am very happy if my full marathon can achieve with 4 hours... and also plan in future that marathon and travel will 2 in 1 package.....!
