All of us are saddened by what happened to Jenny. At the same time we must be thankful that our friend is still alive and over time, would be able to run again. As many of you have seen her, the injury she had is no small gash. It's about surgery and insertion of plates and screws.
At the location where Jenny was hit, it was an accident prone stretch even though it is a long straight highway. No one knows why. If you still remember, it is adjacent to where Datuk Loy was killed in an accident. The spot is also where 2 other Bangladeshi workers were killed by speeding vehicles driven by drunkards. Jenny is involved in the same type of accident. A hit-and-run. The only difference, she survived. She's very very lucky.
The only thing we could do now is to help her recover and get back on her running shoes, in our own way. It could be donations, hospital visits to give words of encouragement just like how we do it in the marathon races, and prayers...lots of it.
Cheers,
Alden
