Siemens Charity Run 2006

Something wrong about this event lah...

1) 900 runners battle for 30 medal in Men Open category?
2) Is that so expensive to do a medals?
3) Seem der organiser care more to elite runner, rather then karlefair runners?
4) There are so many organiser, where are the money goes?
5) Charity event or Sdn Bhd event?
6) Shld runners deserve to get a cert only?
7) Does everyone so luck to get a lucky draw?
8) Is this event more popular then previous year?

No heart to write this report. I still remember from Newton Pm18 word "Thing can simply eat, but kenot simply say." From here I shld stop my story, The End!

Hi PM1, Aiyo...no medal is OK lar. I lagi teruk. Spend money on costume and not even get one cert. The selected fancy costume winners also one kind punya especially the 2nd and 3rd place.

What more important is that we have give it our best. Cheers!

Hey! Mr Kiasu,

Here are some answers to your questions:

1) 900 runners battle for 30 medal in Men Open category? You are lucky they were giving out medals there days. During my school days, you only got something if you came in Top 3. We ran for the fun and love of running!
2) Is that so expensive to do a medals? No, not expensive but Notice the title Siemens CHARITY Run. Most of the money should go to the sponsored CHARITY. If you are not happy, don't take part in CHARITY Runs.
3) Seem der organiser care more to elite runner, rather then karlefair runners? See my answer in Question 1. And why should you get anything!!?!?
4) There are so many organiser, where are the money goes? See my answer in Q 2.
5) Charity event or Sdn Bhd event? CHARITY - Doesn't the title say that???
6) Shld runners deserve to get a cert only? You don't deserve to get even a cert! You are not as good as you think you are if you can't even get Top 30th placing. And Malaysian standard is so low.
7) Does everyone so luck to get a lucky draw? That is why it is called a "Lucky" draw. Duh!

Dear Anon,

Did you compare your mouth with crocodile, shark and hippo? You should have bigger than all of them. Talk you are the best of the world, do, you are the damn sucker.

If you say our standard is low, way beyond low compare to you, which you can easily get top 3 even you run backward while having shower with red wine, so to get your big f***** mouth close, here by we challenge you.

As we 3 class ways lower than you, so we will have 3 runners to run 100K in relay while you run alone, bring your own water or what so ever.

If you win, you will get USD10,000 as per KLIM champion, our M’sia highest standard, your so called lowest of your ass. If you lose, I want your head.

Accept then you talk, or else slap your mouth until teeth drop and hold your hair and bang to concrete.

Like Chinese say, no die no use, use only for Singapore to fill up the sea, go ‘tien hoi’

Regards,
Kh Chen

Hi Ronnie,

I totally agree with you that this run sucks! I was so pissed off especially when I went to collect t-shirt early morning on the second collection day. That guy told me they have only XL! I mean why the f**k they wanna print so many XL size t-shirts as they should have known that we runners are mostly moderate in size. And later I found out that they're keeping some of those smaller sizes as they are limited. Actually a lot of runs were like that but normally I can tolerate if I collect on the final day, but this was the beginning of the second day! I was truly disappointed! The limited medals were horrendous but I was not so upset about it because I was not a fast runner but I personally think they should give out 100. Actually no matter what you write, they will only be offended, but never take this critism positively, thus the organisers will never improve!

Hi,

If they said this is a charity event, then they shouldn't offer cash prize, let the fund flow to charity. What is their purpose to offer cash prize for the runner and the Fancy wear?

Anonymous said...

Talk-with-me,

Well said. I agree that no cash prize should be offered for Charity Runs but that is another thing altogether. Someone should bring it up to Azalina (Youth & Sports Minister).

As for KH Chen, please just look at the SEA GAMES 2005 results for 10,000m and 5,000m. Notice there are no Malaysian names? We would be lucky if we even got into the finals. Still think Malaysian standard is high?

And BTW most of the KLIM winners were foreigners but that is a marathon and we are talking about a 10km run here - completely different styles of running. Only in Malaysia would you find national 800m runners and walkers(eg Vally Michael & Yu Fang) running every road race, regardless of distance just to make $$.

Hi Chen! This is anon2. Why so abusive one ah? People talking about the declining standard of middle/long distance running in malaysia la, not whether your insignificant relay team can beat the even more insignificant anonymous in some silly ultra distance jog. Before you start to abuse me, I don't claim to be a good runner. Only making comments...that is one of the reasons for this blog, right?

Anyway, the number of medals shld be determined by the organiser as long as informed in advance. That way, 'medal lovers' can only choose to take part in runs like Putrajaya where they give away 100s of them.

What I think is bad is giving away cash prizes in a CHARITY run. Who is the charity for, Arul, Yufang or the needy? I oso pening oredi!!! Maybe as Bose says, give more medals. But don't give cash prizes for charity run. Who cares if elites run or not? We see them at the start and after the finish... habuk oso tak ade. They shld be encouraged to train for national/international meets and not to run in charity runs and collect money.
