FYI:The fee has gone up for this run compared to last year.Last year fee for 10K run was RM10 where only the top 5 got hamper & top 20 got finisher medal. This year 10K run not even available.Last year RM25 per family for 3K run. This year increase to RM35 per family for 3 & 4.5K distance. Its a charity run thus, much of the items are sponsored. If you live in Kota Kemuning & vicinity, you can actually run the route for free with your friends and / or family anytime / day you wish. There is an existing foot / jogging path that stretches the entire route that the organisors plan to use for this race.Worth it or not to pay RM35? You decide.
Dear John,Raising fund these days is not an easy task. I have not taken part in this run but readng thru their brochure, i gather that it is organise by a local community group. For RM35 - the Organiser provide up to 3 t-shirts, coupons for light breakfast and an avenue for family members to share a weekend in a healthy environment and the community especially from the surrounding area to get together which is a rare occasion especially when most of us are busy chasing after material wealth. Its very much depending on your perspective as why you wanted to run in a particular event.Even NB15K organised by Pacesetter charged a whooping RM40 for public participation tho' most of the items and cost are sponsored. but thousands still support the event year after year.I feel paying RM35 for 3 in a family outing and able to contribute something to the society is really nothing unless one has other objective. It is very much a personal choice.
Like I said....If you live in Kota Kemuning & vicinity, you can actually run the route for free with your friends and / or family anytime / day you wish. There is an existing foot / jogging path that stretches the entire route that the organisors plan to use for this race.In short, you can Run with your family and / or friends anytime / day for free of charge and use the RM35 for a good meal afterwards to extend the time with family & friends. Why pay for cotton T-shirts?
