Race Walkers Assoc. of Malaysia (RWAM) is organizing it's second year JDP 2010 specially for young walkers (Primary & Secondary school). The purpose of this event is to create interest for young talented walkers to take part and mostly to educate them with the right walking methods.

Beside developing junior walkers, RWAM is also developing senior/adult walkers which is interested to improve and learn the proper walking skill.

For parents who likes to bring your kids to walk together in this event is encouraged. We have specially designed competition for Men & Women open category. Therefore, parents and children could have an experience to walk together in a fun exciting way.

MIBA 2010

Last Sat our Chow Kit Road runner, Kee (Kee Guan Chye) took park in the MIBA 2010. Here is his experience:

Sat event I got position 2 at 19.25 minutes for 3 km Veteran Walk. 30 walkers 40 years old and above

Sun event I also got position "2" for 1500 m run but no medal. Why? My position 2 is counted from behind. At least I am consistent (both also number 2).

The competition is for inter investment banks only.

You are now the first to officially receive the news of the registration opening of The River Jungle Marathon 2010.

Registration is now open. Do visit the link for the run details and instructions. Registration is limited to 50pax, so do register early @ here

In the link, you will find detailed instructions on the run, locations, hydration management, route video, images and everything else we can possible imagine we would need as a participant (I hope!).

Some slight updates as per our last communication out in FaceBook, there will be some slight changes as below:

1. Isotonic (we’ll be serving Revive along the way and providing 1 bottle of Gatorade each at the end)
2. Price of the race has been raised from RM50 to RM60 due to the inclusion of the 7-Hour pacer team.
3. We will be officially providing Finisher-T shirts and certificates to each participants (based on first come first serve sizing)
4. Official Starting Point has been identified at Balai Polis Pekan Batu 18, Hulu Langat

You are invited to attend our fund raising charity event in SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4) (opposite 1 Utama Shopping Centre) on Sunday 25th July at 800am to 5pm

There will be plenty to do, as we are having a 1 Malaysia Streetrace,Food Fest, Games,Inter School Human Foozball Challenge,Performances,Exhibition, Jumble Sale,Haunted House,etc. All these are for a good cause ie. to raise much needed funds for the school eg to build a school roof over student assembly area,repair school field and rebuild the school fence .

We have also invited sports stars to add a 'sports flavour' to the event.

The VIPs,including DPM, are arriving at 10am, so if you come earlier, we can bring you around the food and games stalls beforehand.

Enjoy a great day out at 1Malaysia Street Race and Food Fest 2010!

Would you fancy playing soccer in a flooded field every time it rains?

Or sit on a wet open air assembly area for Morning Assembly after a heavy rain?

Or study in insecurity because the school fence has been breached by outsiders on numerous occasions?

Or using a toilet where the taps are broken?

This is exactly what 1200 students of SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4) in Petaling Jaya are facing on a daily basis. It is for these reasons that the Parents Teachers Association of the school, in association with Bandar Utama Residents Association and MBPJ, has embarked on a charity fund raising event to help alleviate these problems so that a more conducive environment can be created for better academic and sporting excellence.

Come Sunday 25th July 2010, one of the biggest charity fund raising efforts in the residential neighbourhood of Bandar Utama will be underway. Residents, parents, college and school students will enjoy a great Sunday out at a 1Malaysia Street Race and Food Fest which will take place at the school grounds.

The event, which starts at 8am to 5pm,will be graced by our Guest of Honour, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Bin Haji Yassin at 10am. We have also invited MBPJ Datuk Bandar, the local MP and State Assemblyman, Education Ministry officials, Headmasters of neighbouring schools, developers and community leaders.

The highlight of the event will be a 1Malaysia Street Race where participants of all races will run a distance of 3.2km around the Bandar Utama neighbourhood. They will encounter obstacles and challenges along the way...all in the name of fun!

When they complete the race, an Inter School Foozball Challenge awaits them at the school compound. A total of 16 teams will pit their skills against each other. Perhaps, the most eagerly awaited contest is a friendly match comprising sports celebrities. To add spice to the event, the organisers have invited current and ex sports stars eg Daniel Bego, Razif Sidek, Datuk Dr. Jegathesan, Ong Ewe Hock &KimberlyYap.

There will be more than 50 food and games stalls offering mouth watering local and international dishes. Besides that, there will a Haunted House, Garage Sale and exhibition booths put up by charitable bodies eg World Wildlife Fund and Malaysian Association for Blind.

Corporate sponsors will also be turning out in full force as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. 1Malaysia Street Race and Inter School Foozball Challenge are sponsored by Maybank and Celcom Bhd respectively.

SMK BUD(4)’s cheer leading team, which emerged runner up in a recent national level Cheer Leading Competition will also strut their stuff. Other performances include the school’s 24 Drums Group, Malay and Indian Dances, all of which are internally groomed.

The River Jungle Marathon 2010

It's only been 2 weeks after our INAUGURAL KL - PJ - KL Interstate 2010 Marathon, there has been a number of request for us to put together another marathon.

Well, after some consideration... we are planning to do it again!

Time time round, it will be again something different.

We're presenting to you The River Jungle Marathon 2010.

What You Need To Know?

You WILL be running a full marathon distance of 42.195KM (or a little more) :)

This will take place in Pekan Batu 18, Hulu Langat.

The route will be beautiful and scenic, while keeping to the standards of making the course a little (not sure if "a little" is an understatement) challenging, there will be a mega hill to tackle.

Along the route, you will be passing by many kampungs, running alongside rivers, catching view of the beautiful semenyih dam and perhaps encounter a monkey or two. (maybe a dozen)

Race Technicality:

THIS IS NOT A RACE!

We believe, running should be fun... so if you're here to do a PB, then maybe it's not a suitable run. It's targeted at a group of individuals who simply just love running!

Since runners make good friends, we don't think that you should be lonely running. We'll be putting together pacer groups with a fall back system.

What is the Fall Back System?

The plan is to have 3 Pacer Groups. You choose which group you wanna be in. A 5-hour, 6-hour and a 7-hour pacer group.

Those in the 5-hour pacer group, along the way, if they feel it's too fast or taxing can fall back to the 6-hour pacer group and so forth.

Those in 7-hour pacer group, if they need to fall back... hmm... you can fall back into the car which will act as a safety car and a sweeper car. :)

How Will We Do This?

We will look for 6 cars. 2 cars will be assigned to each pacer group.

In each group, car 1 will be leading the way with your hydration and needs. Car 2 will be following the last person in the pacer group.

The car will stop at the first 5KM and every subsequent 3KM to TRANSFORM as a water station, banana station, powergel station and etc.

Do We Have To Pay?

Well, I would love it if we can find a sponsor but i've worked out a way for us to fund this even without a sponsor.

It will cost RM 50 per person and is limited only to 50 pax. So if you're keen, do register early!

1. 2 X Banana Each (1 at 21KM and another at 30KM)
2. 2 Bottle Mineral Water Each (500ml)
3. 2 Bottle Gatorade Each (500ml)

7. Finisher T (we're working on it, hopefully budget allows to cover)

One of der tallest trophy in der world, esp der top 4 position. 5th - 10th all same height, I'm honor n glad able to get one of them in my hand.

I kenot wait for der trophy presentation liao, almost 11am only start our category according to Chow Kei Kei. So hor I give Kei Kei der opportunity to go on stage to perform, I hope we wont over slept until forget to bring back my sky trophy.. haha!
