H20 aka Waterman (Sub PM1)

H20 was having his holiday in Malaysia together with his family. With his back to back schedule, it was very nice indeed that we manage to squeeze sometime out to meet the man from Paris. The man whom most of us chatted with over Der Pacemakers chatbox, receiving advise and tips from him on how to prepare and run a marathon. And finally yesterday a group of the PM members had the chance to meet him face to face and in person.

Looking for Teammates on PAR5

Hi runners and friends. I understand that some of you may not be able to find 4 runners to make up a team, while some might be keen on joining in the fun but may not know other runners to speak to.

In view of this, we the organiser would like to encourage that you email us your details including your name and contact number and we will try and match some possible teammates for you.

To begin with, we shall post your details on the site and those interested and looking for members will then be able to contact you directly. In the event that this does not work for all of you, we can then look at other options of teaming up those that don't have complete teams.

Please understand however that while we shall try our best to get you into a team, we do not guarantee that we will be successful in doing this for every runner. Therefore we trust you will understand if that does happen.

Thank you and looking forward to your participation.

Ipoh Run Update! (Courtesy from Haris)

Ipoh International Run (IIR) - An event which the organizer never learn lesson from previous-previous-previous mistakes. Normally a person who keep no doing same mistake again and again eventhough the solution/problem being highlight, we call it - "Berlagak sombong" another word "Tak reti bahasa"..

For me, i already close my appetite to run IIR many years ago since 2004 - but not fully. Each year i keep update IIR performance thru my keen running friends. Same stories.

No enough medals, lack of certificate, run out drinking water, wrong route, long queue for finish medals, no marking distance - these are basic runner needs. And still they did not fix it or make improvement.

I had witness numbers of marathon runners in IIR crossed finish line and nobody waiting. Finish medal gone - habis, finish banner, tent already brought down, Drinking water station?.. sudah bungkus balik. And i have to give my water bottle and they shared within 4~5 of them. Pity..right?

But... if i mention KRI - Ipoh, anyone disgree if i said KRI is one of best run event organizer? No doubt. They have alot of experience in this sport. Each year they gain more runners participated into their annual event. So my suggestion for next IIR..

Why not the IIR organizer do a joint-venture with KRI?.. Why not?

Ok.. if the IIR organizer.. berlagak sombong. I plead to KRI...

Why not KRI help the IIR organizer on technical/basic thing?.. Why not?

Call To Action

I was reading the comments on the Ipoh Run click here! but I can’t post my comments in der blog – it’s blocked from office TNS!

So can someone pls post the following comment for me?

Some race organizers have proven year after year that they have no intention of improving. We as operators of our blogs reserve the right to ascertain which event we want to feature or not. Previously we’re just doing the runners and organizers a favour by including their races in our blog calendars. But if their races suck we shouldn’t continue to “help” these organizers. Instead we should mark them as black-listed races – call the category “Proven Disorganized Races”. If we continue to help provide free advertising for these scumbags, we’re just condoning bad events and putting our fellow runners at risk. So we bloggers should act responsibly NOT to feature such races in future. We should also be aware of the possibility that unless we start boycotting these lousy events, organizers will continue to set up events as a way to suck up to the politicians. At us runners’ expense. I challenge all runners who have previously been victimized: Are you still willing to be used as pawns?

Adidas AdiStar Control 5 - FOR SALE!

Dear Ronnie,

I need a kind favour from you to put up my ad in your blogsite. I have a pair of Adidas AdiStar Control 5 (size US 10/UK 9/EU 44) that I'm putting up for sale. It was bought in November 2008 and had been worn for only about 60 km, including in the GE Pacesetters 30k earlier in January. It is clean, well-kept and still in a very good condition. Decided to sell it off as the shoes are not suitable for my foot type. This Adidas model is suitable for runners with moderate to severe pronation, hence the high arch support. Photos are attached here.

Original price : RM529.90
Bought for : RM429.90
Selling for : RM250.00
Contact : Khairul Anuar @ 012-3258081 (mobile), 03-21410141 (office) or 03-77050140 (office)
