Only less than two weeks away until the much awaited Penang Bridge International Marathon, we have already bypassed the closing date on 31st October 2010 in which entries for all competitive categories for the event have been closed. Although, the Fun Run category still remains open to allow the public an opportunity to continue to take part in the grand annual event! They may register online at www.penangmarathon.gov.my or they may submit their registrations at the PBIM Kiosk in Queensbay and KOMTAR Level 53 by 12th November 2010.
To date, we have received a total of 23,500 entries for this year's Penang Bridge International Marathon which will be held on 21st November 2010, the biggest yet! So as we draw closer to the biggest sports event in Malaysia, those who are expecting to receive their PBIM Race Packs by opting for the PBIM Race Pack courier service together schools and factories who had register in groups can look forward to receive their race packs by mid-November as all items will be sent out from today 8th November 2010!
All race packs are sent out via Kangaroo Express. They can be contacted at 04-2888081 or pen@kangaroo.com.my. Inside your race pack - for Full, Half and 10KM categories only, expect to find your very own Bib Number and Running Timing Chip, Running vest and sling bag. You are advised to visit our website at www.penangmarathon.gov.my to confirm the bib number allocated to you. For Fun Runners, expect a t-shirt for yourself together with a non-woven bag. All participants will receive the PBIM Runner's Guide Book.
Other than that, Besides promoting the Penang Bridge International Marathon by encouraging the public to start living a healthy lifestyle, we have decided to play our part in keeping your life healthy as well and we are happy to announce that we will be practising environment friendliness by using biodegradable corn-starch cups for all drinking stations!
Another new activity we have available for this year are the Pacers for the Full Marathon category in order to allow runners to better determine the timing of their run within the stipulated time of 7 hours which the participants will receive a Full Marathon Finishers T-shirt upon reaching the finish line.
Not forgetting the annual grand PBIM Lucky Draw which has the grand prize, a brand new Proton Saga up for grabs together with a MS 110 motorcycle which is sponsored by Extreme Design and Associates Sdn. Bhd., among other prizes such as flight tickets to Guangzhou, Medan and Jakarta, hotel stays and more for lucky participants!
