Dear all

Good news – Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad had a meeting with DBKL and decided to open up public transportation earlier on Sunday, 26 June 2011, at 5.00am.

We strongly advise the runners to use public transportation to come to Dataran Merdeka.

Nearest stations are

Masjid Jamek
Bandaraya Station

I still can’t believe it... After 4 month of knocking on whatever doors Syarika Prasarana Negara Berhad confirmed to start LRT, Monorel & Bus 1 hour earlier on Sunday, 26 June 2011 (5:00am).

This will help Half Marathoners and 10km runners to get on time to the start line.

Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2011 Break News again

Race Entry Pack Collection

Venue: Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil
Date: 22 June, 23 June, 24 June & 25 June

Race entry packs not collected after the collection dates will be deemed as property of the Organiser who reserves the right to dispose of or re-distribute them as they deem fit.

What's Inside Your Race Entry Pack?
Runners’ race entry packs are event packs comprising a race bib number, running singlet, one timing device (FM, HM and 10km categories only), runners’ guidebook and sponsored goodies.
What To Bring?
It is absolutely compulsory to produce your identification card or passport AND your confirmation slip in order to collect your packs.
Please note that no requests to change sizes of t-shirts and race categories will be entertained.

Collecting On Behalf:
If you are unable to collect your packs on the abovementioned dates, you may appoint a representative to collect on your behalf. Your representative will have to produce their identification card or passport, completed authorisation letter and a photocopy of your identification card or passport.
Each appointed representative can collect up to a total of 6 entry packs including their own if they are a runner themselves. Authorisation letters can be downloaded here.

Mailing Option:
•Runners who chose the mailing option of receiving their race packs, your packs should arrive between 15 and 21 June 2011. Our courier company will deliver your packs to the mailing addressed specified in your registration forms.
•If you receive a notification card at your door/gate, it means that our courier company has tried to deliver your race pack but was unsuccessful. Call the branch number on the notice immediately to arrange for alternative delivery arrangements.
•Our courier company will attempt to deliver your race pack a second time. If it is still unsuccessful, your race pack will be sent back to our REPC facility.
•If your race pack has been sent back to our REPC facility, you will then need to collect your race pack on Saturday 25 June 2011 between 11am and 6pm from Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil.

Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2011 Breaking News

New Start for 10km and 5km Fun Run

Please take note that the start for 10km and 5km is not at Dataran Merdeka anymore.
The start for those categories has been moved to Jalan Parlimen. Click here for more information. For Full Marathon, Half Marathon and the Kids Dash the start remains at Dataran. However, ALL runners (from all categories) will finish at Dataran Merdeka.

Most of the action will be happening around Dataran Merdeka in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Besides the marathon's starting and finishing line, the area is also host to the Marathon's Carnival where spectators can enjoy exhibition stands, refreshments, etc.

The prize-giving ceremony will also be held here.

In conjunction with the upcoming Standard Chartered KL Marathon which will be held on the 26th of this month, all full marathon participants are invited to join us at our exclusive “Meet the Pacers” Running Clinic.

With only two weeks before the race day, the session will serve as the final check-point for good health, speed and endurance of the participants. Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2011 - Breaking New!!!!!!!

22,000 Participants This Year!

Breaking last year’s record, the Standard Chartered KL marathon announced today that nearly 22,000 runners have signed up to compete on 26 June. Upon the close of registration at midnight on 31 May, runners registered for in each category exceeded those of last year by nearly 4,000 participants.
Runners representing 78 different nationalities and 35 countries worldwide will join the nearly 19,000 Malaysian runners from across the country on race day in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Interestingly, the male to female ratio remains exactly the same as last year, with 38 per cent female and 62 per cent male participants.
The full marathon category achieved a nearly 32 percent growth in participants totaling 2,437 runners in comparison to last year’s 1,855.

1 down 2 to go. I'm glad this Ekiden Relay is over liao, cinya damn pressure like hell. This is my 5th year taking part, liao and each year is getting tougher n kan cheong. As for this year, it was a very close fight. I never except our team can be among der top 3 horses. Any of der top 3 teams can be crown as champion, bcoz der battle was very close. Anyhow, favourite go to Klang Teams, bcoz they hv a very strong team like Peter der french guy, Amelia and etc. At least we are given them a run of their money. Anyway congrats on Klang Runners Team!

I want to thanks to my teammates for der pia spirit to der Pacemakers Network Team, and many thanks for willing to be in PM's team even tho I didnt offer them a thing except good friendship.

Still got 2 more important event to go, Vertical Marathon (12th June ) & SCKLM (26th June). So many races wit so little time to train. Pressure liao!

What : Preparation for SCKLM (Session 4/5)
When : 4th June 2011, Saturday (Public Holiday)
Where : Bukit Aman Car Park, nearby Toilet
Time & Dist : 5.15am (2.6km X 4 Bird Park)
Time & Dist : 6.25am (9.66km X 2)
Time & Dist : 8.30am (2.6km X 3 Bird Park)
Total Distance : 37.52km

This LSD will be der final peak, last session 5/5 on 19th June will be easy liao. Hope got more runners to pace wit on this coming saturday, coz Sunday is NB 15km Run, cinya AMKAN!
