Another Release Tension Run

As promise to myself, i manage to run a faster time. But der sad thing is, if i continue to run like this. Sure no one dare to pace wit me liao, all this while at KLCC i've been running solo. Last time use to hv Justin, John, Adam & Kenny Tan pacing wit me, but now their on der different training liao. mostly all train for marathon. When will i run my 1st marathon ah? Hmm.. still no plan yet, maybe next yrs Singapore 2006 or KLIM 2007 lah. I train for marathon, but not to run marathon.

der split time:
7'02.73
6'49.03 > 13'51.76
6'41.72 > 20'33.48
6'37.74 > 27'11.22
6'30.54 > 33'41.76
6'25.39 > 40'07.15
6'21.52 > 46'28.67
6'03.70 > 52'32.37

Total Distance = 10.4km

Today another run @ KLCC again, but not going to run fast anymore. Slow & Easy...

Run to release tension & revenge

Yday i run at KLCC wit a season best time of 53m 40.87s since sept 7th 2005 but still too far away from my PR of 47:07s. When i run, i dont feel any tiredness. Coz my mind still thinking of der unhappy thing, so i didnt realize i'm going faster n faster. Tan Sri Rohaizad pace wit me at der 5laps, i told him i'm going at negative split, coz i dont want to spoit his run. Tan Sri Rohaizad pace wit me until 1/2 way mark, den he let go liao. How i wish he could follow me until i finish hehehe...

Today i wont go to track, i got no mood to train speed at der moment. So i will still run at KLCC, n try to do below 53mins for der 8 lapper. FYI, Tan Sri Rohaizad will flag off for our Pacemakers New Year Run 2006.

My Split Time:
7'19.49
7'05.61 > 14'25.10
6'55.18 > 21'20.28
6'42.21 > 28'02.49
6'33.32 > 34'35.81
6'28.85 > 41'04.66
6'23.84 > 47'28.50
6'12.37 > 53'40.87

Total Distance = 10.4km

IOI Cummunity Run - More Detail Race Report

I think most of der ppl still not understand wat happen to me on sunday ya? OK, let me explain in more detail...

I hate der orgainiser bcoz...
they promise 25 medals for all category, but in d end only 20 medals provide.

I hate RELA member bcoz...
There is plenty of parking space inside, but they ask us to park far far away from der starting line.

I hate der registration area bcoz...
it was so far away from staring point, der official didnt even tell us where is der starting point location. sendiri cari lah...

I hate der toilet bcoz...
there is only 1 mobile toilet for male & 2 for female, sumore long queue leh.

I hate der starting point bcoz...
der race supposed to start at 7:30am, but they flag off b4 der actual time. So i was late atleast 2 to 3 mins, potong sayur like hell.

I hate der SAAA official bcoz...
there didnt even bother der slow runners after der top 20 finisher, there is no meaning for slow runners cross der finishing line, coz no official there liao.

I hate der water station area bcoz...
it blocking der area which runners hv to pass by to finishing line, dis really suck.

I hate der person who beat me bcoz...
he was to action to me, show me his lansi face. coz he never beat me b4.

I hate myself bcoz...
always want to pansai n pansai non stop b4 der race. wakakakakakaka....

most painful in my heart was, even i started late. but i still manage to potong so many sayur until i kenot potong anymore. when i know my position was 21st, was quite happy too. coz i tot medals up to 25th placing. when i see der SAAA official give out der finishing card up to 20th placing, i kena electrik shock.

Azwar der PM3 International Open House Pictures

Congratulations for another fine performance

Hi Ronnie,

Congratulations to you and Mr Chen for another fine performance.

I am happy to be physically stronger and needs to work on my stamina for the Starwalk. I finished the race with the time of 29mins 26 secs. The official time would be worse as I started off late due to haphazard reporting!

My wife's cousin finished 13th in the girls' category (F) with the time of 30mins 51secs. My student came agonisingly close for a medal finish with the 22nd place. All had started later than others. This boy has the potential to be a medal winner if he trains properly. Throughout the year, he has been constantly close to get medals. I hope he can get a break next year.

With 2 weeks of rest, I hope to end the year on a high note in walking races to motivate der pacemakers' family in walking events.

Balik kampung to prepare my brother's-in-law wedding in Johor and will be back in KL on Monday 5th Dec. All the best to those who are taking part in the Singapore Marathon.

Cheers,
Cheah Tiong Chap

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy birthday to Ryan Teoh Mei Mei

Wish you all the best in your future, esp. in running, don't sapu lantai anymore.

Der_Pacemaker # 40 @ Dinesh Kumaran

Greetings fellow runners,
My name is Dinesh Kumaran, age 27, married with one son, currently residing in Klang.

I grew up in an environment where my dad felt that any sort of outdoor activity was not important, and thus there was a lot of emphasis put on excelling in my studies during my school days. In my teens I was extremely overweight, in fact obese should be the right word to use since I weighed over 200 pounds at one time.

I had lost most of my extra weight in my early 20s by playing a lot of badminton and even going to the gym occasionally. As the years passed I started to find less and less time to exercise. From 2001 till 2004, my job took me traveling overseas all over the globe for months at a time… leaving me with no time for personal matters, let alone exercising.

Having got married in Nov 2002 and then being blessed with my first kid in Dec 2003, I decided that it was time for a career change if I wanted to get my family life and health back in shape. I was thankful when an opportunity came for me to move on in early 2004 and I grabbed the offer. Since then I’ve had more time for my family and also for other things.

I actually only started running a few months back when I joined the gym to lose some weight and get back into shape. As I saw myself getting fitter, I began to enjoy running more and more. One thing led to the other, and I ended up joining Pacesetters in September.

I ran my first 10k race in Putrajaya and managed to finish in position 397 which unbelievably got me a medal! Medals were given only up to position 400 for the men’s open category. This has inspired me to seriously take up running not just as a hobby, but as a sport I can try to excel in. Running has not only made me a lot healthier, I also enjoy meeting new friends at the different events. I hope to continue running for many years to come!

Regards,

Dinesh (DK)

KRI 10k 2005 - Report

Hi Ronnie,

I read your blog. And I know this year's race wasn't that perfect esp at the finishing line there. Because the KRI committees who create this idea, they didn't expect that the runners will come back at the time range 45m - 1hr. They missed to analyse this. Thats why it creates a long queue at the finishing line. They thought this system will create less problem than last year which they split up each category at the finishing line. But, I still prefer the way like the previous years.

During entering the results, we got few duplicate run numbers. This is because the ING people who were writting the results at the finishing line, wrote the wrong numbers and some timing were not clear.

Case about traffic. We paid the RELA, but because of the rain, they hide themselves at the shelter. Summore the can said "We've got no insurance covered, how if we got sick? Is KRI gonna pay the medical fees for us???". That's why no one stop the cars from coming inside to the finishing road there.

The result was out on the same day. Im not sure if it's published at Polo Ground because we did passed a copy to
the person in charge there as I was in the International School. And we published another copy at International School, for runners to collect their certificates. The certficates were printed at 12pm.

I hope next year I will have a chance to participate. For 6 years Im helping them as a volunteer for the 10K race. This year's medal, trophy and cert really attracted me. They trophy cost RM90++ each.

Anyway, congrats on your wife. My timing and her's about the same, if I participate also can get 1.... hehe. Im compiling the results. Later will publish in the website.

Regards,
Wendy

    3 more days to ING-KRI

I must really thanks to Rachel Lee (My binitary) for taking care of me, now my throat are getting better liao. Thanks to her honey + lemon drink that cure my throat from getting worst. I no more taking any of doctor medicine liao, cause it would only make me sleepy & powerless.

Yday my main attention is to run for sweat only, suddenly got one Uncle potong sayur me after the 4th laps. His running n breathing are so terrible, i dont really like his pattern at all. While i still got 4 more laps to go, no point for me to chase him. Cause he oredi 200m ahead of me liao, but lap after lap i feel i'm getting closer to him. Coz i'm running at negative split mah. B4 i finish my 7th laps, i was hoping he would continue his run. Coz i still got 1 more lap to go & i'm only 80m behind him.

    Bingo!!
Yes! der Uncle didnt stop, & he is going for another lap again, & i think is his last lap liao. He turn around & saw me getting closer to his butt liao. Since it was my last lap, i turn on der turbo kau-kau. Manage to close up wit him. Wit 600m left to finish, we run neck to neck. I manage to pull away from him, but he still follow very tight. I turbo even faster at der last 300m to go, he kenot follow me liao. In the end, i did a very gut timing, thanks to him lah.

After finish my run, hv a chit chat wit Dr. Jamie & Professer Newton. Justin came late, so couldnt chit chat wit him. While on our way out to der KLCC park, we saw der TNS Uncle kencing outside der road. Wat a shame, sumore driving a big car Pajero. Rich ppl also like that wan.. Tiu!!

    der KLCC Split Time:
    7'27.47
    7'08.28 > 14'35.75
    7'02.31 > 21'38.06
    6'58.18 > 28'36.24

MT ANGSI TRIP BY LIM FANG HAU @ PM 23 (22/10/2005)

This was the first time climbing Mt. Angsi. Mt. Angsi with the height of 825 metres is situated in Kuala Pilah district, Negeri Sembilan. This trip was led by Steven Ng, friend of Ng Ping Loong @ PM 37.

We departed from Bukit Aman to Steven’s house at 6.30 am in Bandar Tasik Selatan. At 8.00 am., we departed to Angsi. We reached the starting point at approximately 9.15 am. The ascend to the summit began from Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest at 9.30 am. The trip consists of PM37, PM1, Rachel Lee @ PM21, Ivory (Rachel’s friend) and Steven Ng.

The journey to the summit was quite smooth at the beginning by trekking in the forest. At later part towards the summit, we had to hold on to the rope to ascend certain steep parts of the mountain. The ascend took us approximately 3 hours at a relaxed pace. Most of the time, I was following Steven who was leading the way. Only after climbing the rope, I decided not to follow Steven but to be the anchorman to ensure all climbers reached the summit. We reached the summit at 12.30 pm. after a long distance trek from the base. W rested at the summit for 45 minutes to enjoy the view from the summit. We could see some housing estate from the summit.

We descended from the summit at 1.15 pm. We reached the base at 2.45 pm. We took approximately 2.75 hours to descend the summit. Most of the route comprises of the jungle trail with roots, branches and trees. The weather on the summit was hot. This mountain can be considered a relatively easy one as compared to Mt. Bunga Buah as I needed almost 5 hours to reach the summit at a relaxed pace.

Overall, this was quite an enjoyable trip for me as I climbed this mountain for the first time although I felt tired and exhausted after coming down from the summit. For your information, I skipped my breakfast before climbing as I had no time for breakfast. The only food I took on the summit was chocolate and some Powergel as substitutes for lunch.

    King of KLCC Park!!

Believe it or not, somebody has broke der long standing record, which was hold by Justin Lee Pm19. As for der record, Justin is der only person who has run der most lap at KLCC park with 17 laps without stoping. As for yesterday, der record is broken! I oso received live update for that person during his 18th laps. That make me very nervous to know whether will he achive his 33 laps record? I oso received sms from Jantzen Tey Pm22, bcoz he want to snap dat fella picture. Too bad, he come in wrong timing. That fella start quite late lah, around 9am plus like that only he start der super mental stunning record.

Happy Deepavali + My Longest Ever Long Run wit Coach!

Wah.. today business very gut lah. More than 20 plus runners turn up for der long run. So surprise to see Justin Pm19 & Kenneth Pm20 turn up for their 1st time appearance. Dis time coach add more vege + curry to der course, 11km double hill + 8.5km kenny hill + 3 loops inside der boring lake. For slow runners, they juz hv to do 1 or 2 loops will do. When i heard about der new 8.5km route added, i was so overjoy. Bcoz we dont nid to run so much inside der lake mah. By der time i run inside der lake, only cover 3 loops will do instead of 5 loops. So very very happy lor.

I'm juz 3.6km away to hitz 30km mark. Hopefully dis sunday i can achives it lah, but 1st of all, must rest kau-kau lat lor.

    der Course Split Time:
    11.0km > 53'53.00
    08.5km > 42'01.14 = 1' 35.54s
    02.3km > 11'23.55 = 1' 47.17s
    02.3km > 11'12.58 = 1' 58.30s
    02.3km > 11'04.37 = 2' 09.34s

    Total Distance Cover = 26.4km
